Location: Arundel, QLD
Client: Shadforths Civil
Duration: December 2017 – January 2018
Project Overview:
The project involved continuous treatment and discharge from a large sediment basin on a civil works construction site. The water in the basin had low pH and high turbidity primarily due to decomposing organic matter within the sediment. The site had approximately 12ML of water storage, however ongoing summer storms required this volume to be discharged multiple times over the course of the project. The automated alarm system and remote control function of the water treatment system ensured discharge water was compliant at all times.
By using a continuous flow treatment method, low water levels were able to be maintained even though periods of consistent rainfall. This significantly reduced downtime and increased productivity on the site when compared to batch treatment methods.
