Project Overview:

A major stormwater system upgrade was undertaken by Gold Coast City Council in the suburb of Miami. The project involved three separate teams laying hundreds of metres of large diameter pipe to join the stormwater system on Albion Avenue with Mountainview Avenue and ultimately terminate in Miami Lake. Dewatering was carried out by National Pump and Energy to allow construction of the pipeline below the water table. Three Clearpro water treatment systems were utilised to treat the water prior to release into Miami Lake. Due to the presence of Acid Sulfate Soils and indurated sands, the existing groundwater was acidic and highly turbid making treatment essential to maintain healthy conditions in the lake system.
