Dewatering for deep excavation

Location – Byron Bay

Client – Coastal Works

Duration – 4 weeks

Project Overview:

The installation of large underground tank required an open excavation approximately 6m deep in an area with shallow water table and sandy soils. Three dewatering pumps were producing a combined flow rate of approximately 30L/sec which required pH correction prior to release into the stormwater system. Two Clearpro DSR In-line dosing systems were used to increase the pH prior to discharge, avoiding any negative environmental and compliance outcomes. The project involved dealing with multiple contractors and a government client.
