Project Overview:
The Yamba Quays Canal Estate is a new multi-stage housing development in northern NSW. The low lying sandy site required dewatering for the installation of the underground pipe network and pump station infrastructure. Approximately 500 L/m of wellpoint dewatering was installed for Stage 3 along with a 6m deep pump station installation.
Highly loose and permeable sands directly adjacent to the Clarence River made this project extremely challenging for both the dewatering and water treatment. A combination of wellpoint and sump dewatering was used to cater for the high flows (up to 30L/s) and successfully complete the project.
